Book Proposal Guidelines

Blue Morning Books invites compelling book proposals in the following areas: 

  • Health and wellness
  • Self-improvement and personal growth
  • Parenting and home life
  • Medical memoir
  • Health care professional education (e.g., textbooks, clinical guides)

We seek thoughtful, well-crafted, and emotionally resonant texts that will give practical guidance, expand perspectives, and inspire hope.


When you are ready to submit, email your book proposal to submissions@bluemorningbooks.com. 


Please include the following:

  • Book abstract (250 words or less) to summarize the book’s purpose, major points, and scope
  • Table of contents or outline
  • Author biography, including relevant credentials, professional background, prior publications, and any other information that supports your authority on the subject
  • 1 to 3 sample chapters that represent your voice and content


Please answer the following: 

  1. Motivation: What inspired you to write this book?
  2. Audience: Who are you writing for? Describe your target readership.
  3. Market positioning: What existing books address similar topics? How does your book stand apart? What gap does it fill?
  4. Estimated length: What is the projected word count of your manuscript?
  5. Academic origins: Is this work based on a dissertation, thesis, capstone, or other academic project? If so, please elaborate.
  6. Visual elements: Will your book require illustrations, charts, photographs, or other graphics? If so, please describe.
  7. Author platform: Do you have a following, network, or promotional platform that could support your book’s launch? If so, please describe.
